Basketball[edit]

This sentence/paragraph is confusing to me. Respectfully, Tiyang (talk) 11:46, 12 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Strange deletions[edit]

There are some strange deletions here. Simply look at the first few -- there is certainly zero copyright violation in identifying the individual sports. That is encyclopedic information as well -- so not deletable on that score. This requires a re-look, and where appropriate restoration and/or re-wording. But the heavy-handed deletion of clearly encyclopedic content that is manifestly not a copyvio is not the way to go.

And Wallman's quote -- properly referenced -- is attributed, and not so long as to in any way raise concerns as to copyvio.

Also strange, for example, is the deletion of the fact that the cards were issued in conjunction with Major League Baseball and the Major League Baseball Players Association, and with the support of the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum. Again -- highly important as an encyclopedic, contextual matter. And again -- clearly no copyvio ... the deleted language in great bulk simply the names of the two institutions! This is not appropriate. We don't delete relevant material that is nearly all immutable "names" of institutions.

If an editor is seeking to improve the project, and has concern about copyvio, and if there in fact is copyvio, it is helpful to re-word the non-immutable words. That effort doesn't seem to have been made. And as to immutable words and properly sourced limited quotes -- those are not the stuff of copyvio. These edits were far too heavy-handed, and not appropriate on the whole. --Epeefleche (talk) 18:34, 21 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
