Date of Death[edit]

Two dates given: text body says 7 March whilst sidebar says 3 July. Easy to see how this happened. Place of death is given as The Hague. This is where he fell from a balloon but that was a year before he died. Britannica gives Paris as place of death. Chrysippo (talk) 11:39, 4 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

His first names[edit]

Not in my sources. wikipedia.de has lower standards of verification than we do and is full of myths. Unless you can cite a genuine reliable source for this name change, we must regard it as false. — Cheers, Steelpillow (Talk) 21:36, 24 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Please take a look at https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Datei:PPN663959721_Fran%C3%A7ois_Blanchard_%281820%29.jpg
Here is an etching from Bollinger dated 1820 which states the name Francois. I fully agree that the valid surname is Jean-Pierre, as stipulated by the BNF. But equally a historical source states the other name . I am looking for a source which explains WHY THAT iS. The phrase "myth" I could agree to it there is proof that it is a myth.
