Question[edit]

Researching Wijnants (aka Wynants, Winans) genealogy finds that the genealogy at Geni [1] records the birth year for Jan Wijnants, or Jan Wijnants II, the Dutch landscape painter as 1615. Apparently his son, also named Jan Wijnants (the III), Anglicized as John Winans, was born in 1640. If Jan was born in 1615, siring a son in 1640 would be possible, but if the senior Jan was born in 1635 less probable. Prompting my question, what is the source for the birth year?
