Contested deletion[edit]

This page should not be speedy deleted as an unambiguous copyright infringement, because... (please see Wikipedia:GLAM/IMJ project here [1]) --Drkup(IMJ) (talk) 15:05, 2 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

You should be writing your own text instead of copying it from another site, that's the problem. --Mr. Vernon (talk) 15:32, 2 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I confirm that User:Drkup(IMJ) is a recognized editor working in the Israel Museum. She understands copyright implications very well. If she pressed "Save Page" here, this means that she has the rights to publish it and understands the license. She can SEND an OTRS confirmation, but that would be unneeded bureaucracy. The "copy and paste" template is not needed here either. --Amir E. Aharoni (talk) 15:34, 2 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
The "copy and paste" template is relevant because large sections of the article were copied from a web page that isn't affiliated with the Israel Museum. --Mr. Vernon (talk) 15:42, 2 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Can't you consider the possibility that that website copied from Israel Museum? --Amir E. Aharoni (talk) 15:51, 2 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Of course, do you have a link to the Israel Museum site where she copied the text from? --Mr. Vernon (talk) 15:52, 2 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Can't you consider the possibility that she copied it to Wikipedia and to that website from a file on her hard drive?
Seriously, it's not my first day here and i understand the concerns, but there is a limit to bureaucracy. I am working with this editor on behalf of Wikimedia Israel, i know exactly what's going on, and in all honesty, the By clicking the "Save Page" button thingy under this editing box is used in good faith and has enough weight. --Amir E. Aharoni (talk) 16:12, 2 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
It's not my first day either. This is a pretty clear case of copyvio, and you haven't provided any evidence that she has permission of the third party site to use verbatim text. WP:COPYPASTE has DO NOT COPY-PASTE TEXT FROM OTHER WEBSITES. in bold letters. --Mr. Vernon (talk) 16:40, 2 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Sigh.
Wait for an OTRS ticket, please. This bureaucracy is killing Wikipedia - not bona fide copyright problems. --Amir E. Aharoni (talk) 16:50, 2 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
By the way, this article was deleted before for copyvio. --Mr. Vernon (talk) 16:51, 2 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Please either rewrite that article to deal; with the copyright violation issue, or provide explicit permission for re-use. While I understand that this is a good-faith contribution and I support its inclusion, as it stands it violates Wikipedia copyright policy and must sooner or later be deleted if that is not addressed. While Amire80 may be opposed to such bureaucratic measures (as am I in many cases), that isn't a free pass. Since this is a GLAM project, contributors should understand that to protect contributors and Wikipedia alike the procedures for content donation must be followed. Contested deletion[edit]

This page should not be speedy deleted as an unambiguous copyright infringement, because... (the information was provided by the director's office and is not copied and pasted from a website.) --Drkup(IMJ) (talk) 16:57, 2 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

OK, please go to WP:DCP and follow the instructions. Good luck. --Mr. Vernon (talk) 17:00, 2 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
BTW I called the office and they told me they provided the same text for other purposes and that is why it is already online.Drkup(IMJ) (talk) 17:05, 2 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
It sounds like Amir is helping you out on this. An alternative, by the way, would have been to just rewrite the text in your own words, that would avoided all of this. --Mr. Vernon (talk) 17:08, 2 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Removing Speedy at James S. Snyder[edit]

I tried to erase it but it was unhappy, so it is still thereDrkup(IMJ) (talk) 18:18, 2 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

You personally can't remove the SD tag, it has to be reviewed. sorry. --Mr. Vernon (talk) 18:55, 2 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
