"Afterwards he was trained in Basel as an evangelist deacon (Krankenpfleger)." I don't know which is incorrect, the translated "evangelist deacon" or the german "Krankenpfleger". One of them has got to be wrong, because the german Krankenpfleger means male nurse and not evangelist deacon. I suspect the deacon is incorrect, since he went on to become a surgeon doesn't seem to have been directly affiliated with any sort of evangelism. I am leaving this on the talk page and not editing the article until I have had a chance to verify my suspicions. Sunni-01 06:15, 22 August 2007 (UTC)sunni-01[reply]

Looking at the German encyclopedia entry (the external link), he apparently did this training at the "Diakonenhaus" in Basel. "Diakonenhaus" isn't a word I'm familiar with, but Babelfish tells me it means "Deacon House", which rather thickens the plot. The German document then has him working in a hospital, so what may have happened is that he trained medically at a religious hospital. BigHaz - Schreit mich an 06:42, 22 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
