Wiki Education Evaluate and Article training[edit]

The current article seems to be well-developed and detailed, but I noticed that while she has been recognized for multiple works throughout her career, the "Critical Response" section only covers a few of her notable books. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Chskim (talkcontribs) 14:31, 30 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Vandalism[edit]

From what I've seen, this page has been vandalized many times. I do read books by the author, but I don't know enough about her personal life. Reassessment comment[edit]

A section called biography shouldn't exist, the article is the biography, the lead needs to summarize the article and the flow needs to be improved and the language is often too vague or unnecessary and redundant imo The page formatting should be improved too - generally, there is nothing wrong with looking at a good or featured article for inspiration for improvements. Thank you , and you're right. I'll look at some FA's and then reorganize the info, deleting the biography header. Today I was most interested in getting the sources in there. I was so excited to get it 'expanded' I didn't really get into the improving of it. Sabiona (talk) 22:50, 20 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

WikiProject Children's Literature Assessment[edit]

I agree with the current rating of Start class. To improve, I suggest you work on the organisation of the text (for example, with the current number of sub-headings, 'Themes' could be a section in its own right, not a sub-section), find more sources to help increase the content of the article, and reduce the number of quotes the article contains (check the guidelines at WP:QUOTE for more information). In response to the suggestions above, I agree with the need to extend the lead section and make the language more concise, but there is no problem with having a section headed 'Biography' - it helps to separate discussion of the author's life from discussion of their work.

If you need some ideas for improvement, I suggest you look at the criteria for B class, GA and FA status (all of which can be found here), study other author's articles of a high quality (J. K. Rowling, J. R. R. Tolkien, Anna Laetitia Barbauld) and make use of the WPBiography 11 easy steps to producing at least a B article. Once you feel you have significantly improved the article, feel free to request another assessment to recieve more advice. strdst_grl (call me Stardust) 11:20, 21 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Influences/influenced[edit]

{{Infobox writer}} no longer supports the fields influences and influenced. Its template documentation now instructs (twice): "No longer supported. Please move cited/citable instances into prose."

Here are the current parameter values (cut and paste except bullet points):

See Talk: Ray Bradbury#Influences/influenced for some more explanation with cross-references.

Illustrated works[edit]

Current section 6. Jacqueline Woodson#Illustrated works lists books created by Woodson as writer with other illustrators. Apparently she has illustrated none herself; her other books are not illustrated. Right?

The latest listing is 2006. Were all these books created for a younger audience? Are some of them children's picture books? Has Woodson abandoned this course as a writer? Is the list out of date?
