I can't find any reliable, scholarly sources for the white mare myth, or any indication of stories predating 1978. Given this and the use of the "Nessie [from "Loch Ness"]" naming formula, Issie appears to just be a cryptid, not really legendary/mythical. Pfhreak (talk) 17:36, 7 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
