I'll be reviewing this. As this is my first review, it may take a few days but I'll try and get it entirely reviewed very soon. Eiga-Kevin2 (talk - contribs) 23:30, 10 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Here are my initial comments.

  • Lead section:
    • "For the role of Lota the Panther woman"; should be written "Panther Woman" as written elsewhere on the article.
Done. Andrzejbanas (talk) 17:03, 11 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
    • "Island of Lost Souls was released in December 1932, since when several edited forms have been released with several edits to remove dialogue and scenes involving Dr. Moreau"; I suggest changing "when" to "then" in this sentence.
Done. Andrzejbanas (talk) 17:03, 11 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
    • I recommend adding a space between the words rather than having a hyphen in "home-video" and "most-difficult".
Done. (strange, I don't think I would've written them with a dash. Not sure where that come from!) Andrzejbanas (talk) 17:03, 11 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Plot section:
    • "Moreau tells Parker Lota"; should be "Moreau tells Parker that Lota".
Done. Andrzejbanas (talk) 17:03, 11 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
    • Is the hyphen in "beast-man" necessary?
The essay here uses the dash. I don't think there is any "real" way, but let's stick with that. Andrzejbanas (talk) 17:03, 11 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Cast section:
    • Looks mostly fine to me but I suggest changing "beast men" to "beastmen" unless they're cited as the former in that book or other reliable sources.
See above, per the -. Andrzejbanas (talk) 17:03, 11 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Production section
    • "It was announced Burke was go on a promotional tour for Island of Lost Souls after production"; suggest making this "It was announced Burke was going on a promotional tour for Island of Lost Souls after production".
Done. Andrzejbanas (talk) 17:03, 11 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
    • I suggest removing "Has" in "he was cast after the film has started shooting".
Agreed. Done. Andrzejbanas (talk) 17:03, 11 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Reception section
    • Recommend removing the link to The Hollywood Filmograph until/unless it becomes a page.
Agreed. Have meant to do that. Done. Andrzejbanas (talk) 17:03, 11 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Also, for the opening paragraph I suggest changing it to "is a 1932 American science fiction horror film directed by Erle C. Kenton. Produced and distributed by Paramount Productions, it is based on H. G. Wells' 1896 novel The Island of Doctor Moreau, and stars Charles Laughton, Richard Arlen and Kathleen Burke." Eiga-Kevin2 (talk - contribs) 16:47, 11 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Definitely better. Re-phrased. Andrzejbanas (talk) 01:10, 12 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Here are the major last issues that I think need to be sorted out:

  • The second link to Paramount in the infobox is unnecessary
Agreed. Removed. Andrzejbanas (talk) 04:48, 12 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • In the Reception section, I suggest removing the n.a. in the "author" section, "- Rotten Tomatoes" in the "title" section, and changing Rotten Tomatoes.com to simply Rotten Tomatoes in the Rotten Tomatoes citation.
Also agreed. Formatted to make it a bit cleaner. Andrzejbanas (talk) 04:48, 12 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • The only note in the "notes" section is unreferenced; unless a reliable source features the information on what lines were removed from the film, it is classed as original research and should be deleted per WP:NOR. Eiga-Kevin2 (talk - contribs) 12:11, 12 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I think that got lost in a peer edit. I've re-added the source. Andrzejbanas (talk) 04:48, 12 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Great!, that was the last issue. Passing. Eiga-Kevin2 (talk - contribs) 2:17, 12 April 2023 (UTC)
