Completely wrong etymology[edit]

The article states: "The actual name is derived from the original Old Persian variant Sikandar", which is at least curious cause Iskandar is well know to come from arabic "Al-Iskandar". Very surprised, as a reference is given towards Connerley, 2009, p.68, I searched a bit. The reference here is uncomplete but it may be also found in the Alexander the Great article. And then we discover that: 1)this book is a sort of travel relation, which is not written by a scholar; 2)it just says that nowadays the Hindi word "Sikandar", derived from Persian, denotes a rising young talent (this can be also read in the Alexander the Great article). Old Persian was spoken in Persia c. 600 BCE, Persian is just 1000 years old. The sentence in the article is a complete misunderstanding, transformation and overinterpretation of the text. Hence I suppress this big error and its useless reference. --77.146.189.204 (talk) 13:57, 14 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Relevance of Iskander Lemseffer[edit]

I've edited the corresponding Wiki page to remove Iskander Lemseffer for relevance, If my understanding of the notability criterion is correct I think it's safe to say Iskander Lemseffer may not have sufficient relevance for the page.

My thought process is as such, the first element of the notability criterion states, "Inclusion within stand-alone lists should be determined by the normal criteria established for that page" however there are no specific criterion mentioned for this list, so going onto the next statement, "Inclusion in lists contained within articles should be determined by WP:SOURCELIST, in that the entries must have the same importance to the subject as would be required for the entry to be included in the text of the article according to Wikipedia policies and guidelines (including Wikipedia:Trivia sections)." which would imply since Lemseffer does not have the relevance as other individuals on the page (e.x. existence of biographic pages, and meeting notable persons criteria), it makes sense to remove him for relvance.

This is my first edit on Wikipedia so please correct/revert me if I'm wrong. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Romulus118 (talkcontribs) 05:13, 19 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
