I changed how the page looks so it looks more like the other state highway/route pages, specifically Illinois. Congruency looks better anyhow. --Tim 19:11, 15 February 2006 (UTC)

Each highway listed has a corresponding sign found at [[Image:CircleSignXX.png]], where XX is the highway you want.

Regarding decommissioned routes, I wanted to stay away from them for brevity's sake. If we list one, we should really list them all. If we do that, we'd have more decommissioned routes than in-use routes, and some decommissioned route numbers are now in use elsewhere in the state. Would we differentiate the older routes, for example, [[Decommissioned Iowa State Highway 27]], or put the information about the highway being previously decommissioned in Iowa State Highway 27?

I say forget the decommissioned routes. Save them for Jeff Morrison's page. --Tim 04:28, 15 March 2006 (UTC)

If the decommissioned number is now in use again, then the old routing might be mentioned on that article. I would say that since Iowa does not have its own WP, this should be brought up at the U.S. Roads WP for discussion. What are other states doing? --Station Attendant 23:29, 15 March 2006 (UTC)
Keep decommissioned routes. They've survived AFD, then they should be included. --Rschen7754 (talk - contribs) 23:39, 15 March 2006 (UTC)

I was bored, so I added the decommissioned routes through 300. I don't like them on the page, but it's fair that if there's one listed, they all need to be listed. --Tim 03:11, 18 March 2006 (UTC)

As the real author of the Iowa Highways Page (Jeff does Iowa Highway Ends), I'd rather not have Wikipedia duplicate the efforts of my site by including all the highways that have existed throughout the past 80+ years. For now, I'd suggest limiting decommissioned roads to those that were decommissioned in 2003 (either through legislation that was passed that year or through voluntary transfers) or later. (A list is here.) --Iowahwyman 16:38, 22 April 2006 (UTC)

Anyone have a quick list of US Routes and Interstates for Iowa

This article looks naked without them, as they seem to be on the other states lists. DandyDan2007 10:49, 28 March 2007 (UTC)

As a followup, I found the articles about US routes in Iowa and Interstates in Iowa and added a mergefrom template to this page and mergeto templates to the other two. Not sure why they were separated in the first place. DandyDan2007 07:03, 29 March 2007 (UTC)

Shields

Hopefully it's just my computer, but I can't seem to see the shields for US34 and US69. I put them on the page, so I know they're there, and I know they're not broken because I can see them on their respective pages, but it's really perplexing why I can't see them. --Fredddie 09:30, 29 September 2007 (UTC)
