Exit 6?[edit]

I had opportunity to drive 485 this weekend, and I noticed ramp stubs at mile marker 5.8. It looks like this is either a future exit or an exit that was proposed, had work begun on it, and was then abandoned. Does anybody know the details? —C.Fred (talk) 21:53, 13 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

What you have discovered is a future interchange for West Blvd. and/or Garrison Road. Plans call for Charlotte/Douglas International Airport to build its third parallel runway next to I-485. Doing so will force the area roads to move elsewhere. Garrison Road, which crosses at the site you mentioned will be shifted and West Blvd will come in at that place as well. It appears to be a huge undertaking and details can be found here: [1] --Triadian 22:35, 13 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
The source say they open at October 2008. I've never been to North Carolina so I don't know anything about exits. But the Exit lists looks fine to me.--Freewayguy Call? Fish 01:01, 23 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
There is no current plans to finish exit 6 (West Blvd.) anytime soon. It was created as a future need once traffic density warrants it, but that has yet to happen in the area since growth is relatively slow thanks to the airport. Also, with the possibility of the new toll road being built near the exit, it might be scrapped or modified anyway. --WashuOtaku (talk) 15:25, 6 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I live in charlotte and the future corridor could possibly run behind my house. --biggie14 7:49, 18 June 2011 — Preceding unsigned comment added by Biggie14 (talkcontribs)

Exit 18: Oakdale Rd???[edit]

I use 485 and I don't ever see exit 18. I'm off of 23C and the 2nd exit I pass is 16, not 18! Biggie14 (talk) 14:07, 4 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Google Maps aerial photos show that there's an exit for Oakdale Road under construction but not opened.[2] Based on that, I've noted the exit as unopened. —C.Fred (talk) 15:09, 4 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Went one step further, adding Garrison and Wedding Roads and referencing all three future exits to NCDOT. Hope that helps. --WashuOtaku (talk) 15:41, 4 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Map[edit]

I have revised the map of I-485 to reflect its current routing.

Please fix Weddington Rd shift bug[edit]

I don't know how to actually fix the Weddington Rd shift by one column bug. Anyone help me? 3125ATalk!Contributions! 18:10, 16 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

When updating junction tables, you sometimes have to expand certain columns to fit new sections in; in this case both Matthews and Charlotte (location) needed to be expanded by one each. Made the corrections, hope that helps. --WashuOtaku (talk) 18:50, 16 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
