Inner/Outer Directions[edit]

I'm amused that it has been listed that I-277 is noted to have Inner/Outer Directions when in fact no such signs exist. It is predominantly signed North/South with one random exception on I-77 South (Exit 9) where it lists I-277 East. Unless someone can direct me to where there is a sign in Charlotte stating Inner/Outer, I would like to recommend removing the reference from Wikipedia. The signs do actually exist unless I'm dreaming. Examples can be found the on-ramps for I-277 at the south-western intersection with Tryon St. (Well, if you include those side roads that form ramps). I'm trying to find picture proof but its hard. All I have is the Charlotte Observer's informal labeling of the loops of 277. I knew I should have taken a picture. I was just as shocked as you were. They have to be a new thing, because you're right it's almost all north-south. --Triadian (talk) 03:38, 18 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, I did notice the other day that the mile markers in the center of the highway say inner and outer loops. So I can see where the loop came from now. But beyond that, I haven't seen anything else, when I ever get some free time, I'll do a drive around I-277. Maybe the NCDOT was saving money on the mile markers since they got a bunch for I-485; I-277 is no loop, just a half-loop. If I find an official sign, I'll take a picture of it. Thanks for the reply. I hate when I'm proven wrong... NCDOT has been replacing all the signs around the Interstate with South/Inner & North/Outer signage for the last month. So yea, odd as it seems for a half-loop interstate, but they do use inner/outer terminology. WashuOtaku (talk) 02:27, 17 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
