Update Proposal Notable Work

Dear Fellow Wikipedia editors,

I would like to propose the following addition to the Notable Work section of the Infront Sports & Media article. The company was recognised with significant industry awards in 2014 for further development of its innovative television production work on major sports events and I hope you agree this is an interesting update to the previous mention of the same award for its subsidiary HBS in 2010 - bringing the information up-to-date in line with technological advancements. I suggest the following edit at the end of the second paragraph in this section following reference 22 and 23: I have provided additional references below to substantiate this update:

Proposed update to article due to out of date information

1. Updating company ownership information and figures - ownership of company is - 60% Dalian and 40% Other shareholders

6.The article says that the company Infront Sports & Media will be re-branded and renamed as Wanda Sports - this is incorrect. The company is not being re-branded or re-named it is under the roof of the Wanda Sports organisation but remains an entity in its own right.

?? I don't see where the Wikipedia article makes that rebranding statement that you are referring to. But the reference that you provided says "...has decided to merge the two companies under a new brand".... North8000 (talk) 13:34, 2 February 2017 (UTC)

Its in the History section, last sentence says it. Appreciate the reference also says it but if you read further down in the article there is a quote “The integration of Infront and the WTC with its iconic Ironman brand under the roof of Wanda Sports represents an important step in the expansion of Wanda Group’s strategic investment in the global sports business,” Blatter, who will act as President and chief executive of Wanda Sports, said.

I appreciate it is a bit ambigious with the way the article has been written. I'm running into a couple of issues which are compounding each other. One is that amongst the 1/2 that I've looked into, the source does not support the specific statement. For example the source provided for the "60% ownership" figure actually says otherwise. It says that they bought 60% ownership and then sold a portion of that. So, it not only does not support the statement, it conflicts with it. Then you gave two different sources for the name of the Chairman, and they each listed a different name. The second issue is that you are giving a general description of the proposed edit rather than the specific proposed edit. The result of these two is that the only way for me to proceed is to read the sources, learn the topic well enough in those areas to resolve those questions, and then create the material. That is a bigger job than I'm prepared to tackle on this article. I'd be happy to help if you could do the following: Develop a specific proposed edit rather than just describing it. Then provide a source for it, making sure that the source specifically supports the key statement(s) of the edit. Then let me know and I'd be happy to handle. Thank you for your time. I'd be very happy to work on these changes in the way you have suggested and very much appreciate your help. I apologise that this is a bit confusing. I will do my best to clarify and thank you for your patience.

1. I agree with you the source does make things a bit unclear. I think the edit you have made here is good - seeing as the reference I provided, as you rightly said, does conflict with itself - due to the fact Dalian sold some shares. Clearly Dalian Wanda is majority shareholder, so as you have it - Parent Dalian Wanda Group + others is a good solution here.

I would suggest we update the second paragraph of the [History] section to support this. I have provided a proposed new version with reference.

In February 2015, Chinese conglomerate Dalian Wanda won an auction to purchase Infront from Bridgepoint for more than €1 billion. In November 2015 it was announced that Infront would be integrated together with the WTC with its iconic Ironman brand under the roof of Wanda Sports.World Triathlon Corporation.

The other source / reference which confused was to support the percentages (albeit I think we are in agreement we are not including percentages now). This refernce also supported the actual purchase by Dalian Wanda and I would suggest is enough to argue that the previous Chairman of the Board be removed.

I made an in-line note above that I made the first change (less one word) . I had previously put the 900 & 35 numbers into the body of the article, including the reference that you are giving me so thos numbers lookk fine for the info box. The rest look good and I'll make them. It will take a little work on the details.
