disambiguation[edit]

The word Imamah literally means "leadership" and is not only referring to Shi'a doctrine, regardless of what the Imamah article says (it's a mess right now).

Imamate refers to the position of leadership following Muhammad, specific to the Shi'a.

Ibadi Imamate[edit]

Is it worth mentioning the concept of the Imamate in Ibadi thought there? Historically there was an Ibadi Imamate in Oman and the Rustamids were an Imamate too. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.33.172.234 (talk) 23:44, 16 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
