I welcome input and criticism on this page. I am an Ohioan not affiliated with Policy Matters Ohio. I strove to make this NPOV although --except for Imagine Schools own website -- every link I find on the web calls this company, the largest for-profit charter school management company in the United States, corrupt, deceptive, dubiously run, or (extremely generously) poorly organized. I'd argue for relevance since so many schools in the U.S. are run by this company -- and its founder, Dennis Bakke, already had a page (despite this company, his primary source of relevance, having none). For Profit vs Non-Profit status[edit]

Can you provide a citation about the non-profit status of the organization? As far as I know, it has failed to achieve non profit status. See: [1]

I'm going to go ahead and remove the second line in the article. Please re-add it if you find newer information from a reputable source about the non-profit status. I think I saw somewhere that it has an affiliate that is a Virginia nonprofit corporation, but it does not have federal tax exemption and indeed although it has tried to get such exemption since 2005, the IRS has never granted it, but I don't remember where I read that.

Also, FWIW, I'm not affiliated with this organization or a competitor. I'm just interested in this field generally. -- Joi (talk) 21:14, 8 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I'm also not involved, just curious about this company. I welcome your correction, which verifies what I thought. Except the company claims on its website that it is a nonprofit. Other than that, it looks to me like you are correct. PS I am a big fan of Creative Commons! Johnpdeever (talk) 14:14, 9 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

NPOV issues[edit]

Thanks to Johnpdeever for starting the article. Most of the article needs to be rewritten to address neutrality issues, however. It needs sources, and statements like, "Like all charter schools, Imagine is one of the biggest educational bargains for state and local taxpayers" need to be validated. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.75.24.166 (talk) 20:14, 29 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
