Linux[edit]

Note that nothing in ikiwki's design requires linux; people use it in Mac OS X and for all I know, it might work in windows.

Notability[edit]

I consider the software to be quite notable, if a bit new. (This article is in no way linkspam or an advertisement, but informational in nature. Still, I understand that that might be a concern.) There are a number of users who have bothered to list themselves [1] and it has been discussed on Linux World [2] and Slashdot [3]. Others will need to chime in with their thoughts on notability, but I think the software is notable. I don't have time to go through the notability guidelines, but I think we should keep this article around and flesh it out. Isoxyl 15:07, 2 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

FWIW, slashdot has never actually mentioned ikiwiki as far as I know. Various ikiwiki-based websites have been on slashdot. --Joey_Hess

Article restored[edit]

Since this article was speedily deleted, I decided to speedily restore it. Notice that it is now 1 year and 1 month later and I believe ikiwiki now has more notability. I will list evidence here below and then edit the article. -- Sverdrup (talk) 18:04, 20 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Notability (2008)[edit]

Ikiwiki is now more widespread. It is in current debian stable and it is fairly frequently updated in debian testing. [4]. It has in the fall of 2007 and winter 2008 recieved two Secunia advisories, which means it was reviewed by independent software security companies.[5]. It has widespread use in the Bliki (blog-wiki convergence) capability in the debian community.[6] -- Sverdrup (talk) 18:09, 20 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

For what it's worth, having a Secunia advisory just means that someone (in this case, me and a contributor) noticed security holes, and that we did the right thing to get a CVE entry. I don't have any reason to think that Secunia has reviewed ikiwiki --Joey_Hess

Comparison with gitit[edit]

How does ikiwiki compare with gitit, which is mentioned in the See-also section?--Imz (talk) 16:07, 19 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
