It sounds like the article might need a couple sentences that give readers context for what an identity is (according to this theory) and why we might care to understand ICT? not sure, just trying to interpret the meaning of the tag at the top. --Htw3 04:07, 23 October 2007 (UTC)

You guys really are off to a great start here. I'm impressed. But there's always room for improvement.
- As Dr. Welser mentioned, it would be a good idea to provide some more context to explain why ICT is important and to explain what it can tell us about social interaction.
- You correctly identified the link between ICT and symbolic interaction. But you need to expand on this. ICT is heavily symbolic interactionist. First you should mention that ICT is based upon Cooley's notion of the "Looking Glass Self." The theory also makes use of Mead's notion of the "Generalized Other." And you can mention that there is an element of Goffman's dramaturgy in that interaction can be viewed as a performance.
- You can also note the similarities to Mead's work on interaction. Mead noted that meaning is generated when individuals interact with one another. One individual makes a gesture to a second individual. The second individual responds to the gesture. The meaning of the gesture arises in the response. ICT takes the spirit of this and applies it to behavior.
- ICT is very similiar to sociocybernetic theories of interaction in which individuals constantly are monitoring feedback to their actions which results with members in an interaction group comming to exhibit similiar behavior over time.
- Finally, it might be good to note the structural link to ICT in that the image the individual seeks to project is often sstructurally determined. For instance, we often look to celebrities or certain magazines to serve as guides for what to wear.
