History and development[edit]

Does someone have information regarding the history and development of the ICER codec? Who created it and at which organization/site? --DBBell (talk) 22:59, 21 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Basically all of the sources cited in the article seem to be self-published by JPL/NASA. Is the topic notable? — BarrelProof (talk) 00:20, 5 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Comparisons to JPEG 2000 seem irrelevant[edit]

Over half of this article compares the ICER format to JPEG 2000. It sounds almost like a sales pitch, as in the section, "Design commonalities with the JPEG2000 compressor." There are already plenty of comparisons between the two formats on the JPEG 2000 page.

Could someone rewrite this article to focus more on ICER and less on this other format? --Charizardpal (talk) 04:19, 4 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

– No primary topic. The nonprofit Institute for Clinical and Economic Review gets more page views than the file format, and Google Scholar results return a wide variety of topics in which the file format does not prominently figure. ICER file format doesn't appear to be an expandable acronym. (t · c) buidhe 22:08, 4 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
