I.A.O.I.A.O. (John Zorn album) — Could be easily confused with any of IAOs Vladislav0 (talk) 22:45, 24 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

  • Agreed, and redirect I.A.O. to IAO. Powers T 01:21, 25 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment – Why not IAO (album)? ɠu¹ɖяy¤ • ¢  08:01, 25 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment - I think, it should be redirected namely to I.A.O. (John Zorn album) - as well as other articles about his albums (Elegy (John Zorn album), The Gift (John Zorn album), etc. Vladislav0 (talk) 08:31, 25 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • Semi-support. "I.A.O." is essentially interchangeable with "IAO", so I agree that it should redirect to the dab page. Regarding the album, the article text uses "IAO" which is contrary to the page name, so it could be that IAO (album) would be the prefered move. PC78 (talk) 12:09, 25 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
    • Just to clarify, I would support a move to either IAO (album) or I.A.O. (album), whichever is deemed more appropriate, but there is no need to disambiguate the title further as suggested by the nom. PC78 (talk) 09:39, 26 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
      • 1. Well, I suppose it should be better to clarify band's (or musician's) name in the article title for future releases. (For example see Lucifer_Rising_(album) and Lucifer_Rising_(Kaamos_album): actually both articles should contain band's (or musician's) name in the brackets.) 2. So, I.A.O. (John Zorn album) or IAO (John Zorn album)? Mea culpa, my mistake - "IAO" without dots is better, because Zorn himself spells it this way (see his label catalogue page). But sometimes the title is referred to as "I.A.O.", with dots - for this case I could make later redirection page I.A.O. (John Zorn album) (or I.A.O. (album)...)Vladislav0 (talk) 18:07, 26 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
        • So "IAO" (without punctuation) would seem to be the prefered version, yes? You're more or less correct with regard to your first point about "Lucifer Rising" (and I'll deal with that in a moment), but we don't preemptively disambiguate article titles when there is no reason to do so. IAO (album) is the correct move here. If another article comes along for another album called "IAO", we can disambiguate further then. PC78 (talk) 18:26, 26 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
          • Yes, "IAO" without punctuation seems to be the prefered version. Ok, I understand your point of view on "preemptive" articles and agree with it. Vladislav0 (talk) 19:20, 26 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • Move to IAO (album). I.A.O. could be any of the other meanings and some sources give the album's name as IAO.[1] Since there aren't any other albums named IAO on the dab page, this can be moved simply to IAO (album). It's a good idea to stick to the simplest possible disambiguator. Jafeluv (talk) 11:46, 28 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
