Boston[edit]

did'nt the band members of boston dance through the streets of Hyannis? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.68.135.105 (talk) 12:10, 20 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hyannis rail by 2010[edit]

The MBTA does not have any plans to extend rail service to Hyannis by 2010. The state is looking at extending Middleborough/Lakeville commuter rail service to Wareham and Buzzards Bay, but not until after the New Bedford/Fall River extension is built, which will take many years to complete. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.184.148.33 (talk) 03:29, 2 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Is this the same "Hyannis Port"[edit]

There's currently three articles I'm looking into.

Firstly are "Hyannis Port" and description inside the 'Hyannis Port District' articles referring to the same place??? If so, would it not make more sense to redirect the "Hyannis Port" article redirect to the above article about the Hyannis Port historic district? Secondly is the Historic district the same spot as where the Hy-Line Cruises departs from? CaribDigita (talk) 07:20, 27 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

reverting drinking water section[edit]

Magnolia677 reverted because "if this is "not unique to Hyannis", then it's not worth noting, per WP:NOTNEWS" ?

I dont agree. I am pretty sure the citizens of Hyannis dont think so, because of a decade or 2 if you like, long history of water issues.:

Many issues are newsworthy, even though they occur in different locations around a state or the country a continent or the world. Your argument not unique to Hyannis, then it's not worth noting doesnt hold water.

i also conclude that you are not informed about, and appear to not live in Barnstable County.--Wuerzele (talk) 03:07, 26 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

now John from Idegon reverted the benign addition of sourced content into an article that has barely ANY sourced content calling it "clearly edit warring" ?
How to explain that ?--Wuerzele (talk) 03:13, 26 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]
If you have bothered to read the link you were provided, NOTNEWS requires sustained widespread coverage. You have 0 sources from outside the local area. Information that is strictly of interest to the local area is not encyclopedic. You are editing against consensus. When you make a new addition and another editor reverts your addition with a reason, you are required to come to the talk page and form a consensus before re-adding it. To not do so is the definition of edit warring. When two editors disagree with your edit, it is quite egregious edit warring. As to your statement about your county, no I have never been there and do not need to have any first hand knowledge of your area to edit this article. Your attitude is approaching WP:OWN. If you can demonstrate thru sources that this information has sustained and widespread coverage, a consensus can probably be formed. Please just lose the attitude, ok? And stop edit warring. As far as the current state of the article, you are absolutely correct. It sucks. Adding more local interest stuff is not improving it. Reference some of what's there. That would be an improvement. John from Idegon (talk) 04:12, 26 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]
First, there is no rule that only national media qualify as WP:RS.
second lets deal with the facts of teh article.
"If you had bothered to read the 9 links you were provided" (oh what a bureaucratic passive sentence construction!), you wouldnt have written the above, nor use such angry language ( bother, egregerious, etc). John from Idegon appears to want to suppress the benign addition of sourced content.
re accusations: I think jfi is WP:wikilawyering when accusing me of ownership of the site, making one addition to an article.
I think it is obvious that jfi edit warred reverting me twice without talking. I reverted magnolia once who didnt talk and Jfi once who also didnt talk until I started a post. I would ask you to ping me if you adress me jfi, --Wuerzele (talk) 20:28, 27 May 2016 (UTC).[reply]

Kearsarge03216 (talk) 18:09, 5 May 2024 (UTC) Some time has passed since this has been updated. The first Cape Cod Times that I just read in a search was the 2022 construction of a new fire fighting training facility that does not use foam. If/when I get a bit more time and energy, I'd like to get into improving this article. It appears the fight is over and this wiki should reflect that. [1][reply]
