Hello, User:Freshman404. I've been writing articles on kings of Elam, and was pleased to find that this article already exists. I thought I'd get ahold of you and solicit your opinion before making any major changes.

I'm thinking of moving this article over to Humban-haltash III, because that seems to be what this king is called in the contemporary sources I've seen. Unfortunately, I don't speak Farsi -- which I think is the language that the one source currently cited was written in -- so I wondered if you'd be willing to answer questions to help me write in cases where there are multiple opinions found in the various sources. @Alephb: Hi, he was also known as Humban-haltash III and Khum Ban Kaldash. If you think Humban-haltash III is more common in the sources, you can move the page. I created the page with this name (Humban Haltash) because the name of the article in Farsi was this.--Freshman404Talk 19:49, 8 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
The sources I've found seem to usually give the name of the particular Humban-haltash they are referring to: I, II, and III. I haven't been able (in a quick Google Books search) to find an English source that calls him "Khum Ban Kaldash." So I do think "Humban-haltash III" will work better. Since you don't object, I'll move the article. Since no other Wikipedia articles link here, I don't think there's any need to keep this page as a redirect. Instead, I'd like to make it into a disambiguation page, leading to the various Humban-haltashes.
I can already tell you there's going to be conflicts in the sources over dating. Where there are differences, my instinct would be to put the dates in newer sources in the main text and relegate Matufi's dates to the footnotes -- he was writing in 1940, after all. But if you have objections, I won't insist on that strategy. I also think there will probably be a conflict in the sources over whether he really was the last king of Elam -- I've seen lists where he isn't.
I know it was a long time ago that you wrote this, but can you remember whether the whole article is all sourced to Matufi, or just the last sentence. As the article expands, I imagine it will grow, and I'd like to know which parts I need to keep cited to Matufi in order to keep text-source integrity. @Alephb: I'm a bit busy these days, but I can provide you more information and references in few days (probably on Thursday).Freshman404Talk 04:31, 9 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
That's fine. Don't feel any obligation. I'm in no hurry. I've been busy writing Gambulu, Indabibi, Puqudu, Shimashki Dynasty, Tammaritu II, Teumman, Ummanigash (son of Urtak), and Urtak (king of Elam). I just wanted to give you a heads up that I'm working on the article, in case you wanted to be involved. And because I've noticed that a lot of this Elam stuff leads to contradictory opinions among scholars -- and I'm very much an amateur at this -- I just thought you might want to know before I did anything weird to your article.
