Neutrality[edit]

I don't have the time to address this myself right now, but it seems odd that there is no Praise for this, and only Criticism. -- Yekrats (talk) 16:33, 15 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Praise[edit]

I could be completely off base, but there probably isn't much praise as of yet since the program is still in the beginning stages and hasn't been fully made available by lenders as of yet. I don't think it's an issue of neutrality. Drunauthorized (talk) 16:39, 15 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Then, perhaps it would be an issue of what the government/Obama administration claims it would do and why they are doing it, versus the criticism & protests. Also, I would eliminate the empty "Praise" section. -- Yekrats (talk) 17:48, 15 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Actually the criticism section could use expanding. The article gives substantive claims to the HASP and HAMP while the criticism is merely ideological. Surely there are substantive criticisms. For example, does getting a HAMP make it far more difficult for a family to relocate for a job? What are the long-term implications of more credit/debt for a short-term goal? Will these houses stagnate the sub-prime market?
There are many real substantive questions. Anyone who knows of literature regarding this subject could really improve the article. 76.183.145.208 (talk) 06:37, 20 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Update[edit]

At this time, it appears that this plan has not been very successful. I have read that about half of those who had their mortgages rewritten on more favorable (to the borrower) terms have gone right back into default again within three or six months. Even the Administration has seemed to back away from it. It may be time to remove the "dispute". —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.73.145.4 (talk) 21:14, 29 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
