Article should be deleted[edit]

"Holloway Beach" does not really exist. When comparing to the entry in the Queensland Place Name Search it kind of becomes clear that the entry for Holloway Beach is an orphan, a remnant, to boot, it does not refer to a "town", but a "population centre". The coordinates point to exactly nowhere. The initial author User:Kerry Raymond should instigate the deletion process. Cheers, Oalexander (talk) 04:46, 1 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Oalexander: "Population centre" is the modern jargon for towns and cities in the Qld Place Names database. If you lookup anywhere that you think is a "city" or "town", e.g. Cairns, Babinda, etc, you get a "population centre" in the database. The other thing to be aware of is that when the Qld Place Names database was computerised, they only included "degrees" and "minutes" but not "seconds" in the coords. As you will see Holloway Beach's coords have no seconds, so this is another example of this. If you nag them about this, they will usually update the coords to be more accurate, but there are many examples of these truncated coords in their database. I note that the original town centre is up around Poinsettia Street in the northern tip of the locality. See this 1982 map Kerry (talk) 06:48, 1 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
It remains a fact, that this is a non-existig thing. It is on no whatsoever map, there are no signs to it. It s superseded by the actions described n the Qld Place Names Search for Hplloways Beach. There is no "Holloway Beach" in actuality. Cheers, Oalexander (talk) 06:55, 1 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
