Plot incorrect[edit]

The last two sentences of the Plot section misrepresent what happens significantly, in my view. Possibly that's intentional but I don't see why. What we are most definitely meant to understand implicitly is that she tells her boyfriend what she did, and she was standing guard end of pontoon precisely to intercept dead man's friend.
