Merge with Herschel Walker?[edit]

The trade, although a blockbuster, really shouldn't deserve an encyclopedia reference on its own. It should be merged with the Herschel Walker page in itself. ColdRedRain (talk) 15:00, 14 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

My belief is that this trade, being as large as it was, and as famous as it is, definitely deserves its own page. The ramifications of this trade changed two franchises for at least a decade, and one could argue changed the face of NFL trades in the league for good. Obviously it needs to be expanded with more information... maybe some insight into the dealings before the trade, the decision to make the trade (on both sides), and more on the aftermath for both teams and possibly how it has affected the league overall. But, if a trade such as the Manning-Rivers trade has it's own page, then "The Trade" among trades should be given the same. --Cdman882 (talk) 18:52, 26 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The trade definitely deserves its own page. This trade shaped the NFL, as well as being an example for other topics. For example, tell me another time where someone's pick three years down the road was traded. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.36.186.207 (talk) 23:08, 12 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I won't do it, but somebody should mention just how poorly Hershel Walker played for Minnesota. It was brutal. Somebody should also mention that Hershel wound up back on the Cowboys roster soon after he stunk it up in Minnesota. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.41.149.123 (talk) 21:13, 13 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
