Date of death[edit]

There are conflicting sources on the date of death. All agree on the year 1941.

JoinCalifornia.com ([1]) and Political Graveyard ([2]) say March 13;
A page from U.C. Berkeley, where Carnahan was on the Board of Trustees, says March 31: [3];
The article previously said May 31 ([4]), but this cited an L.A. Times obituary published April 1, 1941, two months before May 31. Obviously that's not correct. Unfortunately, the L.A. Times article in question is not online, and a search of its archives for Carnahan in 1941 turns up nothing.

I'm going with March 31. The two sources that say March 13 are not very official, and my assumption is that the U.C. Berkeley site, having an actual connection with the individual, is most likely to be correct. I am guessing the addition of "May 13" was probably just a typo for "Mar. 31" and will ask the editor who added it to comment. TJRC (talk) 22:37, 22 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
