I need to check into the history of Heronswood but I don't think it's accurate to call it a "botanical garden". Heronswood was (and is) a commercial nursery, which was purchased by Burpee and ultimately closed at its original location. The only entity that now exists as "Heronswood" is the nursery owned by Burpee which is now located in Pennsylvania. I assume that Burpee owns all rights to the name "Heronswood" and even if the original location does become a botanical garden, suspect that it will not bear that name. I'm aware that it is a bit confusing, but the subject of this article is a work of landscape architecture and a botanical collection located in Kitsap County, Washington. The subject of this article is a botanical garden which has been associated with a business, Heronswood Nursery. At the time I created this article there was not a separate article for Heronswood Nursery, and perhaps there should be as it is certainly a notable business. However the business is not the subject of this article. The botanical collection associated with the nursery location in Kingston, Washington has artistic, cultural, botanical, and historical significance. At the present time Burpee Seed Company is seeking to sell the property and a non-profit organization is seeking to buy it. If you or any other editor would like to write an article about the nursery trade name Heronswood, as a separate article from the patch of land in Kingston, there would be some obvious links between them. I might start that article if I have time, but have not yet. But let's remain clear about the subject of this article. - Michael J Swassing (talk) 05:36, 5 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
