Uncanny Similarity?[edit]

How exactly is the similarity of the costumes worn by Here Come the Mummies and The Mummies 'uncanny?' They're mummies. There isn't really any kind of range of costumes one can wear when dressing as a mummy. It's pretty much one costume. You wrap yourself in gaze and unless you want the effect ruined you put on a little face paint. It's not uncanny, of course the two looks are going to be similar I would expect them to be darn near identical. The concept simply lends itself to one look. I've never seen or even heard of the punk band The Mummies and I would still be willing to bet money that their costumes pretty much look the same. There were at least 3 various 'Mummies' groups in the rock'n'roll 50s. I've only seen one pictured but their costumes were uncannily similar to HCTM, did they use a time machine perchance? I'd be willing to bet that the other two groups also had similar costumes too, but here's the thing... Back between the wars there was an act called The Mummies who, from the description, I would guess were a kind of Wilson, Keppel, and Betty ('Betty' in this case being 'Cleopatra') and I would lay odds on their costumes also being uncannily similar to the aforementioned punk group. --Deke42 (talk) 00:16, 12 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

3rd paragraph[edit]

The third paragraph makes no sense. It begins by suggesting that the live band is normally just the 5-piece rhythm section, then that it may also include a two piece brass section, then finally "sometimes" augmented by two more. Then it closes by stating "Typically the band plays with 9 members on stage."

Which is it? Normally 5 or typically 9? I'd correct it, but I don't know which is right...213.208.117.47 (talk) 23:33, 17 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Major edits[edit]

I just made major edits to this article to bring it up to acceptable WP standards as far as possible with the existing material. This included deleting many dead or inappropriate citations, and adding Citations Needed flags to many as of now unsupported statements, as well as to section and the article as a whole. I can see where there might be problems getting this particular group to conform to Wikipedia standards. The members are anonymous and all the information about them is invented (Unless it's all true, but I'm currently ruling that out). On the other hand, they do exist. I've seen them, but unfortunately that little titbit is also unallowable.
