Age when R' Henoch took over[edit]

Wasn't R' Henoch 24 when R' Dovid was niftar?--Danthecan (talk) 11:50, 17 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I was just working off the information I read somewhere that he was 91, and was born in 1916. Since his father's levaya was on 7 December 1941, and surely he didn't take over the yeshiva until after shiva was over, the only way he could have still been 24 is if he was born after 13-Dec-16. But maybe the information I read was wrong, and he was really born in early 1917, which would allow him to be 24 when he took over, and 91 when he was relieved of his duty. -- Zsero (talk) 21:43, 17 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Students[edit]

Notable students should only include people with their own Wikipedia entry, or for whom such an entry should be written. 2A0D:6FC2:43D0:9200:6D21:9900:C9A9:B1E (talk) 16:38, 26 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

So write an article for them. Don't remove them. Nerguy (talk) 02:47, 27 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

All sources I have seen say that Dovid was his teacher, not Henoch. [1][2] etc 2A0D:6FC2:43D0:9200:2536:4376:EC69:CAED (talk) 21:15, 14 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

The Torah Musings source clearly says he moved to Israel in 1968 after serving as a rabbi in Far Rockaway for twenty years. Which means he left Chofetz Chaim Queens in 1948, which is 6-7 years after R' Dovid passed away. So he was the student of both R' Dovid and R' Henoch. Nerguy (talk) 01:08, 15 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Who ordained Chait? (Chait lived with the Leibowitzes, and Henoch and Moish were friends.) 2A0D:6FC2:43D0:9200:6427:97E9:48B:228C (talk) 20:04, 17 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
What does ordination have to do with this discussion. You can be someone's student even if you are not ordained by him? Nerguy (talk) 17:40, 18 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Listening to some lectures surely does not make one a prominent student of the lecturer. Chait never referred to Henoch as his mentor, but did view his father as such. 2A0D:6FC2:43D0:9200:64E2:4227:8085:C429 (talk) 20:17, 21 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
