2006 comment[edit]

Does Dial really own Right Guard and Soft-n-Dry? I thought that they were from Procter & Gamble; they at least certainly were with Gillette before P&G bought them out. Did P&G have to sell them in order to complete its buyout of Gilette? Rlquall 13:29, 16 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, they did have to sell. It is my understanding that Gillette did indeed have to divest of its deodorant brands in order for the P&G buyout to be approved by US regulators [1]. The announcement that Dial would be the acquirer was made in late February. [2].--Msr69er 15:13, 7 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Why did Dial corporation decide to try and fool the consumer by down sizing the dial soap instead of just increasing the price? You are trying to pull the same stunts as the cereal and Ice cream companies. You down sized the bars by at least 1/3, but the prices have staid the same.—Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.166.53.211 (talk) 23:14, 25 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Body soap (unsigned/undated comment pre august 2011)[edit]

The name "Dial" on the bar of soap collects grey matter and looks dirty. I cannot leave it in the soap dish as it looks germy! If the letters were not depressed, grime would not collect there and appear dirty. Why can't they raise the letters, make them smaller, or put them on the side of the bar? I hate to display the bar of soap because of this and yet I know Dial is the best for killing bacteria.... Pat Lile
