I checked this page for copyright issues against Earwig's Copyvio Detector and there is no longer any copyright issues with the article. NZFC(talk) 19:28, 16 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

External Links[edit]

The Morrison-Shearer Foundation, http://www.morrisonshearer.org/ "I will, however, point to WP:ELMINOFFICIAL as a reminder: "More than one official link should be provided only when the additional links provide the reader with significant unique content and are not prominently linked from other official websites. For example, if the main page of the official website for an author contains a link to the author's blog and Twitter feed, then it is not appropriate to provide links to all three. Instead, provide only the main page of the official website in this situation."- User:The Bushranger 23:00, 14 January 2018 (UTC) 50.254.21.213 (talk) 00:36, 15 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I feel User is wrong here and others appear to agree with me including the person who wrote the above that IP is quoting from Bushranger. The external links weren't either Morrison's or Shearers personal websites and shouldn't be listed. The foundation is referenced in the articles so if people wanted too they are easy enough to find anyway. NZFC(talk) 05:11, 15 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I note IP appears to be WP:FORUMSHOP to find users that agree with him. NZFC(talk) 05:16, 15 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Text from other users from other talk pages

It was a content dispute, and ANI is not a place to handle content disputes, especially when the answer is clearly stated in the policies and guidelines, as I quoted." "If you want to include the link on the page, you have to establish a consensus for its inclusion on the article talk page. Please see WP:OTHERSTUFFEXISTS and WP:BRD. - The Bushranger One ping only 04:31, 15 January 2018 (UTC)"

"Assuming I am understanding your question correctly (which appears conceptual, not based on a specific issue): An official foundation website might be permissible; there are variables involved, so cannot answer in absolutes. Social media pages of non-living persons would only be relevant if it was in use during the person's life, so might be permissible in that scenario, again pending other variables. Any social media pages created after the death of the subject are usually not going to be allowable. --- Barek (talk • contribs) - 22:18,22:18, 14 January 2018 (UTC)"

The collapse box is text taken from other pages from when IP was shopping around for an answer that matched what they wanted to here. NZFC(talk) 07:33, 15 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Social Media[edit]

  • "While I sympathise with the IP's frustration here, the bottom line is that, due to linkspam, IP/new users are not allowed to add social media links to pages, enforced by XLinkBot. As noted, the links of the subject are acceptable, but they have to be placed by an autoconfirmed user. It's unfortunate, but that's how it is, and appealing to WP:OTHERSTUFF doesn't change it. I suspect WP:VPP would be the place to propose either allowing IP users to add social media links, or to ban them altogether; beyond that it's a case of content and that's not something ANI adjuciates." You can just link the policy, you don't need to copy and paste it here, that is a waste of time. NZFC(talk) 07:15, 17 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
So what about facebook it is an official link in her name, can be authenticated, can be seen without login, and is not a fan site, and

all it has is pictures,unlike this https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kaarinan_Pojat 50.254.21.213 (talk) 15:37, 17 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Foundation link[edit]

NZ Footballs Conscience, what is the problem with posting a link to the Morrison-Shearer Foundation under External links and/or in the infobox? The article contained the link from its creation in March 2017 until you removed it recently. It does appear genuine, and readers might appreciate a link that is easy to find in External links, rather than less obvious in References. as i have repeatedly told you the bot user took it out he seems to have an issue with IP's and only you as an administrator can override and put it back in see:User_talk:XLinkBot#Sybil_Shearer,_The_Morrison-Shearer_Foundation and January 2018 User_talk:50.254.21.213#January_2018 and Wikipedia:Administrators'_noticeboard/IncidentArchive973#External_links and Help me User_talk:50.254.21.213#Help_me! plus Wikipedia:External_links/Perennial_websites#Facebook,_MySpace50.254.21.213 (talk) 06:07, 17 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Hi SlimVirgin my understanding was external links where suppose to be pages that were run by the person and this was an organisation about them instead. (Applies to Sybil Shearer page as well). From what I read as IP user argued with everyone, that was the case by them as well. If that is incorrect, I'm happy for the Foundation link to go ahead. I think what really set it all off is IP trying to add a link to the foundations Facebook page as well, that I am sure shouldn't be added. Happy to have a reasonable discussion around them though. NZFC(talk) 06:54, 17 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
The Morrison-Shearer Foundation has been linked because of an edit war between me and the bot user who took out the external link who thinks if there was a page than the link could be used as an external link on that page in stead of the syble page it is inappropriate to do that and should be removed as per non Consensus as an unconstructive edit. Wikipedia:Red_link#Avoiding_creation_of_certain_types_of_red_links50.254.21.213 (talk) 08:18, 17 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

The Morrison-Shearer Foundation was established in 1991 to preserve and exhibit the works and documentary materials relating to the careers of photographer Helen Balfour Morrison and dancer-choreographer Sybil Shearer; to maintain the Home and Studio as a source of inspiration for others; and to sponsor new creativity. It is a private operating foundation supported entirely by income from the Foundation investments. Since the death of Sybil Shearer in 2005, the Foundation has been managed by a Board of Trustees, named by Ms. Shearer and guided by her wishes as expressed in her document "Purpose and Aims of the Museum" (1985).[1]

It seems appropriate to post a link under External links in both biographies. There are links on the site to publications, images and discussions that might interest readers. I wouldn't redlink it in the article unless you can find enough independent RS to make the prospect of an article realistic. SarahSV (talk) 04:10, 18 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Hi SlimVirgin, yip I'm happy for it to be added back in and added to Shearers article. NZFC(talk) 04:15, 18 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@NZ Footballs Conscience: thank you. SarahSV (talk) 04:18, 18 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
No problem. SarahSV if you have a minute, can you look at Notes on the Shearer page? Is it common to have a notes section? It appears to two pieces of work of them both, but not sure if it is appropriate and if not, maybe merged into the article? NZFC(talk) 04:25, 18 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Unsure why you have listed these here, the volunteercenter link doesn't help the article and if its a copy of what is already on the foundation link then its not required. NZFC(talk) 07:16, 17 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
