This tour is certainly notable[edit]

I understand that there are music articles on Wiki that are probably not notable, but this is not one of them. This tour is discussed in a lot of sources. A simple Google search on the web brings up discussions from VH1, Ultimate Classic Rock (an article celebrating the 35th anniversary of the tour), Rolling Stone and if you go in Google Books there are various books discussing the tour as well. As discussed in the sources, the tour is notable for the following reasons:

  • First Sabbath tour with Dio replacing Ozzy as singer
  • Bill Ward had a breakdown in the middle of the tour and quit, having to be replaced mid-tour by Vinny Appice. This was Appice's first time playing with the band
  • Part of the tour was done jointly with Blue Oyster Cult (this portion being called the "Black and Blue Tour") and according to sources this double bill set attendance records in several places. However, the bands did not get along and there has been quite a bit written in books about that. I am looking right now at Martin Popoff's "Black Sabbath FAQ" published by Backbeat Books and it contains like 1 to 2 dozen pages about this tour, and if you search on "Black and Blue Tour" in Google books you get even more hits than searching on Heaven and Hell tour.
  • The band Manowar reportedly formed as a result of this tour since one of the founding members was playing in an opening act while another was working road crew

All in all there has probably been more written about this tour than the vast majority of rock tours. I may not have time to add every one of these sources in right this minute, but how anyone could think it is not notable is beyond me when a couple of short searches show clearly otherwise (and that's not even touching the sources that are in book form or old magazine form and not necessarily available online). I am taking the notability tag off the article and maybe I will have a chance to add in some of the sources soon, but since they clearly exist for this tour and could easily be found by anyone who took 5 minutes to look, the tag should not be there.
