Need more details on funding[edit]

I'm on the HealthyWage wiki page and I am trying to understand the funding model. I don't see where the money comes from. If it is truly a wager or bet, then I would be interested in knowing how the company manages to side step gambling laws. Regarding side-stepping gambling, the only thing I can think of is the company claims the weight loss task is a game of skill, and not a game of chance. Or maybe it is a "game of will" and not a game of chance.

I've never really thought about things like that from that view before. I would definitely like to read more about the underlying theory if it is being used in the model.
