Redevelopment corrections[edit]

The redevelopment section makes it sound like the runway was removed in the 1990s, however this was not the case. In fact a Comet was left on the runway until approximately 2003 prior to the University developing the site. This was also still present and kept there past the filming of both Band of Brothers and Saving Private Ryan as the filming took place off to the side of the runway away from the main road running from Smallford to Hatfield.

During the early 2000s myself and a group of approximately 20 people were given a tour of the site (as part of a pre-development tour of what would become the UoH De Havilland site), including walking around the Comet left at the site. This particular model can now be found in Duxford, however at the time was left in tact with engines exposed to the elements. 86.183.57.184 (talk) 20:19, 18 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
