The entry has been tagged for serval reasons. In this connection, previous editors have been criticized in an estonishingly rude tone ("inappropriate", "horrendous", "excessive"). The reason for ignoring Wikipedia's courtesy rules is is not comprehensible. The same applies to most of the points listed in the tag. In detail:

The topic of this article may not meet Wikipedia's notability guideline for academics. (April 2022) Acc. to the guidelines one of 8 items should be fulfilled; at least 3 do meet these criteria: 1) scholarly impact - cf. Google, Google Scholar, Researchgate etc. 4) impact on higher edication - many works in university libraries, cf. Worldcat 7) impact outside academia - many interviews and articles in the media (radio, TV, magazines); a selection here: https://news.google.com/search?q=hasso%20spode&hl=de&gl=DE&ceid=DE%3Ade or http://hasso-spode.de/spode.html#Medien In addition book-reviews in the media (Zeit, Spiegel etc.).

This article contains wording that promotes the subject in a subjective manner without imparting real information. (April 2022) There is no puffery. Randykitty (who has tagged the entry) has qualified the words "international" and "penned" and a hint to Worldcat as "horrendous stub" and deleted it. Hoewever, Worldcat may be incomplete but it is a source widly used in Wikipedia. Inserted again.

This biography of a living person needs additional citations for verification. (September 2009) Difficult, since except for numerous short biographies in books there is only an autobiographical scetch. However, basic data e.g. https://portal.dnb.de/opac.htm?method=simpleSearch&cqlMode=true&query=nid%3D132838788 or https://viaf.org/viaf/17503473/

This article relies too much on references to primary sources. (May 2010) Outdated. The distiction in primary and secondary does not apply in this case. The point here is whether a source ist "reliable" or not. Books and articles published from etablished publishers are reliable sources . The bibliography has been enlarged in this sense; also some English articles have been added. (By the way, there is a a seconary source dealing with Spode's works.)

This article may rely excessively on sources too closely associated with the subject, potentially preventing the article from being verifiable and neutral. (April 2022) This point looks far from the NPOV. Please explain source-basedly.

What remains, is a rather shaky ground of Spode's bio; but for the time beeing there are no better sources available. A poblem that countless entries on living persons have. Thus, after some changes, the tag can be removed.
