Comment: See NYT reference: Some German news media have referred to a “shadow army,” drawing parallels to the 1920s, when nationalist cells within the military hoarded arms, plotted coups and conspired to overthrow democracy, as well as the title of 2 ("Hannibals Schattenarmee", which translates to "Hannibal's shadow army").

However, the article doesn't seem to meet Rule D7. The lead speaks about the group in the past tense—what happened to it? The third paragraph under History just sort of fades out and it's not clear what happened to it since 2017 or why it ended. Is there any more information you can add here to establish notability, especially in the lead? Also, the hook fact needs an inline cite in the article. Yoninah, hi, thanks for the feedback. I've cited the NYT source directly inline now. Notability should be no problem, there is significant coverage in German-speaking sources (see e.g. this list of articles in the taz alone about Hannibal and groups linked to it). English-language coverage is sparser however, which is why I relied so heavily on the two big NYT pieces (I didn't want to refbomb the lead just to establish notability). The "closure" aspect is a harder nut to crack. We do know that as soon as Schmitt learned of the terror investigations against Franco A., who was linked to the Day X plot, he ordered the chat groups to be deleted. I can add that. There were also a number of investigations, police raids and court proceedings targeted at groups affiliated with the network, but unbundling that in a comprehensible way would require massive expansion of the article. But I'll do my best to try and add a summary paragraph over the next few days, if that sounds good to you. Thanks again and best, Blablubbs (talk) 20:27, 30 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Yoninah, I have added a short "closure" paragraph now; I've also included two new sources and de-orphaned the article. It could (and should) obviously still be significantly expanded – this is a massive and complex case – but I hope it is more rounded now. I'd appreciate any feedback you may have.
