Hopf genealogy[edit]

Is not supported from any of Skanderbeg biographers. Hamza is not Vrana Konti, he did not commanded the garrison or was a governor of Kruje and was not a duke. He deserted Skanderbeg in 1457 and was put into jail. I've already explained to Euzen here before and right now Euzen is just trolling. Aigest (talk) 13:31, 11 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

@Aigest. The link you presented is unrelated to the topic of this discussion. Your unjustified accusation about Euzen is personal attack.

@ZjarriRrethues: The links you presented contain sources (Fan Noli and Ducellier) which refer to alledged Hopf's "translation mistakes" only regarding the first name of Skanderbeg's great grandfather who was kefalia of Kanina when it was ruled by the Serbian Empire in 1368, not regarding his nephew Hamza and him changing his Muslim name Hamza to Christian name Branilo. I will not insist (for now at least) that Branilo chose his name against his great great grandfather, but please don't remove the cited text about Hamza's Christian name being Branilo.--Antidiskriminator (talk) 22:00, 27 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Revisiting these old articles, may I reming that Hopf calls him "Brana Conti" (Conti is a title, not a name). It is reasonable since he also appears with the name "Branilo" which is a variant of Brana. This name Brana is common in Byzantine families and there may be synonyms. However, if you don't like this name, call him whatever you like. The Italians call him "Branai" or "Granai". --Euzen (talk) 12:28, 3 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
