Remaster or remake?[edit]

As we have several contributors disagreeing with the description of Anniversary as a remake, can we please get a consensus as to whether it should definitely be classed as a remake or a remaster? Note that some of the sources cited refer to the game as the latter, and I've also come across one that uses both terms in describing it. Wikibenboy94 (talk) 12:46, 13 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

It's essentially an entirely new graphic layer running atop the old one, and it contains new features (Reach multiplayer, Kinect library, etc.) rather than just being a shinier version of the same game. It might not be a full remake as in "an entirely new game trying to replicate the original", but it's also much more than the usual remaster of "run at a higher frame rate and resolution and call it a day". As you mention, it's referred to both ways and functionally in both definitions even when being called one or the other. Der Wohltemperierte Fuchs talk 15:16, 13 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
