This article is written in British English, which has its own spelling conventions (colour, travelled, centre, defence, artefact, analyse) and some terms that are used in it may be different or absent from other varieties of English. According to the relevant style guide, this should not be changed without broad consensus.

Medieval?[edit]

It says, “It was named after Conrad Haas, a medieval rocket pioneer....” On Conrad Haas, it says he lived (1509-1576). That's not medieval. Middle Ages are from about 476-1492. (476: Roman Empire falls; 1492: Columbus discovers America.)--Solomonfromfinland (talk) 06:07, 19 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

SSTO?[edit]

It says Haas 2c is to be an SSTO. That's not realistic. Executor (rocket engine) says said engine has a specific impulse of 270 s (sea level) and 295 s (vacuum), burning RP-1 and LOX. Why would they attempt SSTO on such an inefficient engine? RD-180, which is used on Atlas V's first stage and also burns RP-1 and LOX, has specific impulse of 311 s (sea level) and 338 s (vacuum). Also, the rocket is very small, at only 16 metric tons at liftoff. This means that its ballistic coefficient is poor, so it will lose alot of delta-V to air resistance. Are they really un-practical enough to attempt SSTO on a small, inefficient rocket instead of a large, efficient one?--Solomonfromfinland (talk) 06:27, 19 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

From what I gather the primary issue is that of cost. Considering they are likely aiming for a five digit($) price per rocket I'd say let them face whatever difficulties. If it pans out, kudos to them. The price per kilo to orbit would be sub $1,000. Granted it would be a decaying orbit, but still... 95.76.136.228 (talk) 10:20, 27 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
