Planetary system[edit]

Playing Devil's advocate here, until the paper in question ("The sdB+M Eclipsing System HW Virginis and its Circumbinary Planets", listed as having been submitted to the ApJ at [1]) appears, it is best to leave speculations about the discovery of extrasolar planets out of the article: we don't know if the paper in question announces the discovery of a new planet or merely talks about whether planets are possible in this system, limits of stable orbits etc. 86.171.72.213 (talk) 22:13, 15 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Reality of the orbiting companions[edit]

  • [2] - "A dynamical analysis of the proposed circumbinary HW Virginis planetary system". The proposed planetary system appears to be extremely unstable, casting doubt on the reality of interpreting the timing variations as being caused by orbiting companions. 46.126.77.137 (talk) 15:25, 21 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed merger[edit]

I propose that the article HW Virginis c is merged into this one. The system as originally proposed is dynamically unstable [3], and while an alternative orbital solution has been proposed [4] it leaves the parameters of the second companion very unconstrained, as noted in the first paper linked in this section. Until the planet is on a more secure observational basis, it doesn't make sense to have a separate article for the planet. 77.56.99.23 (talk) 18:11, 1 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
