Coordinate error[edit]

The ship is sunk off the coast of narvik, the coordinates given is not even in Norway, it is in Sweden.

1. 67.32N 16.37E (decimal degress) is located in the mountains within Padjelanta national park in Sweden.

2. 67 degrees 32 minutes North by 16 degrees 37 minutes East is in the mountains near a small lake, also within Padjelanta national park in Sweden.

3. Narvik, Norway, is located at 68.4379N 17.3974E (decimal degrees).

4. A typographic variation, 68.32N 16.37E, is located in Norway, not far from Narvik.

5. 68.32N 16.37E (decimal degrees) is located in shallow water off Lillevagen, a hamlet or village along the Efjorden, northwest of where the E6 highway crosses Efjorden. Efjorden is on the south side of Ofotfjorden, west of Narvik.

6. 68 degrees 32 minutes North by 16 degrees 37 minutes East is in the waters of Lavangsfjord, in beach water in a curve along route 824 just as it winds through Lavangen, Hamnevoll, and Bekkelund. Lavangsfjord joins Tjeldsundet, which joins Ramsundet, which joins the north side of Ofotfjorden, west of Narvik.

7. On a Norwegian map, place names near 68.5590N 16.5580E (decimal degrees) include Skuteneset and Skutenesgrunnen, a variation of which appeared in the Geoffrey Mason cite, below. These coordinates are about 3 kilometers from 68 degrees 32 minutes North by 16 degrees 37 minutes East, and in the same body of water.
