The claim about improvised gas chambers is a strong one, and therefore needs to be upheld by references. I have read both Radu Ioanid's book on the Holocaust in Romania, and the Wiesel report, and while there is unquestioned agreement about brutality, shootings and deportations, none of them mention anything like this. I also re-checked the link to the Holocaust in Romania wikipage and Antonescu's role in it, and they do not mention it either. The Gura Humorului Jewish community website does not say anything about gas chambers. Also, during Antonescu's post-war trial, the accusers didn't mention that he used (or intended to use) gas chambers, and it would have been strange for them to overlook a fact like this. I added a citation needed mark next to the claim. Could the author please cite the sources or modify the sentence? Thank you, Eugen Ivan 06:39, 22 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I have misunderstood this page: http://www.jewishgen.org/Yizkor/gura1/gur203.html (didn't check out the name of the camps, to see that some had died at Auschiwitz). Sorry. Dahn 07:04, 22 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I am extremely impressed with the detailed information regarding Jews in Gura Humorului. Bravo for excellent content!

At the same time I am a little more than shocked that this fine work constitutes the whole of information. There is far more to Gura Humorului historically than just this one part. There's no reference to the communist era. And there's no content about the modern era. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 209.144.236.83 (talk) 16:08, 20 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Translation from the Romanian article[edit]

I notice that the Romanian article on the same subject has relevant content on the town in the modern day. Perhaps someone with better Romanian than me would feel like translating it? I can try to make an attempt on this with my rudimentary skills otherwise. Jimjamjak (talk) 12:48, 1 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hasn't any contributor got anything more relevant to say about Gura Humorului than discussing the Jews who used to live there in historical times? It's a living town in northern Romania, you know! 213.233.67.164 (talk) 14:16, 1 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Does nobody think that there should be a mention of Joseph Juran and Nathan Juran here? Or maybe being ignorabimus is Wikipedia standard now? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 83.5.0.177 (talk) 10:46, 27 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
