Never knew[edit]

Taterbill: I used to live at Greenwood Ave. and Charles Allen while in college at Georgia Tech, and never knew about this fire. Twenty years later, I live in Denver and read about it in Wikipedia. Cool.

The image shown of the 'fire in the fourth ward' was taken by William 'Bill' Smith. My aunt has the original of this photograph, along with several others of the fire. We will post these additional images just as soon as we get access to a scanner. Elainiac 12:22, 4 October 2006

Sources?[edit]

what is the source for this information? It reads like Garret's book and so should be referenced. Also, I believe that the "small warehouse" was actually the "Pest House" for Georgia Baptist Hospital -- where many of the Spanish Flu victims were housed. The mattresses had to be burned because it was unknown if they would spread the disease. (This was told to me by my g'father who was purchasing agent for the hospital at the time.) Something doesn't fit with this. The page on the Spanish Flu indicates that it was first seen in the US in 1918. Buzdavis Buzdavis (talk) 03:16, 14 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
