New derivation[edit]

Sign for heat capacity and specific heat capacity[edit]

I believe the convention is marking the heat capacity, an extensive property, with capital C. And the specific heat capacity, the heat capacity per unit mass, with lowercase c. In my opinion, the signs in this article are messed up. However, I'm not an expert in this field. Could anyone have a better knowledge to sort it out, please? Relating the macro and microscopic definitions without writing Planck distribution explicitly[edit]

The present derivation looks cumbersome, it is possible to obtain the result using just the fact that enthropy depends only on the dimensionless combination ω/T. Will do it later if I have time. Daniel Antonenko (talk) 05:32, 3 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
