Ordinance XX[edit]

I'm looking for any help from those knowledgable to the Government of Pakistan on the article Ordinance XX. KevinPuj 20:20, 11 January 2007 (UTC) Th introductory part of this article has a factual error: The Prime Minister of Pakistan is not indirectly elected--he has to be an elected member of the parliament--and the nominated by his party. He does not need the vote of the parliament but needs to get a vote of confidence. The president is indirectly elected (Rajam6).[reply]

Important notice[edit]

The government section of the "Outline of Pakistan" needs to be checked, corrected, and completed -- especially the subsections for the government branches.

When the country outlines were created, temporary data (that matched most of the countries but not all) was used to speed up the process. Those countries for which the temporary data does not match must be replaced with the correct information.

Please check that this country's outline is not in error.

If you have any questions or comments, please contact The Transhumanist .

Thank you.

Possible Vandalism[edit]

In the last part of the article I noticed something odd that could be vandalism:

"On August 7, 2008, the Pakistan Peoples Party and the Pakistan Muslim League (N) agreed to force Musharraf to step down and begin his impeachment. Asif Ali Zardari, Rehman Malik, Altaf Hussain(Murderer of Innocent People) and Nawaz Sharif announced..."

The bracket isn't spaced correctly so it doesn't fit with the rest of the article, not to mention the content. If no-one objects I'll remove it today. FireLyte--spyre (talk) 14:18, 4 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

History[edit]

Could a history section be added here? I'm trying to find information on the transition from a central government for Pakistan and Bangladesh to two governments. ~~Andrew Keenan Richardson~~ 02:38, 7 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Dictatorship between 1977-1988[edit]

I believe the Dictatorship of Muhammad Zia-ul-Haq should be mentioned. It occurred between these dates (1977-1988). It is an important historical note regarding the Pakistani Government's migration.

Merge List of Ministries[edit]

There is a proposal since Feb 2013 to merge the List_of_Federal_Government_Ministries_of_Pakistan into this article. I don't think this is needed - it is useful to have as a separate list, and would allow expansion and more detail (for example, the list article could show the current minister, etc) --Obi-Wan Kenobi (talk) 15:42, 12 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I see very little use of such a list outside of Government of Pakistan. Most of these ministries have their own articles anyway where all the relevant details are placed in infoboxes. I strongly support a merger. kashmiri 16:07, 12 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
The current list could be expanded - for example, to show when the ministry was created (and when it was dissolved in some cases) - much more detail could be placed here than in the GoP article. --Obi-Wan Kenobi (talk) 16:26, 12 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
List articles are not updated as frequently as main articles. Maintaining two depositories of the same information - articles of individual ministries and this list article - is unsustainable in the longer run IMHO. Especially that such information changes very frequently in the context of Pakistan. The GoP article is the right place for a list of all government bodies, each wikilinked to its respective article. kashmiri 21:15, 12 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Government of Pakistan, Urdu transliteration[edit]

The article offers the Urdu translation for the Government of Pakistan, Urdu: حکومتِ پاکستان‎. I believe the standard is to provide a transliteration of this for readers who cannot read Urdu. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.197.91.136 (talk) 03:39, 11 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
