A strange oversight[edit]

There are 8 articles & 1 navbox about the Good Witch franchise -- which is one of the Hallmark Channel's most successful productions. Yet it hasn't yet been given a category of its own. Or the sections about the franchise's characters split off & combined into a separate article. -- llywrch (talk) 06:42, 17 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Usually a navbox suffices and, currently, {{The Good Witch}} does. Most navboxes ideally contain blue-linked articles, and TGW has the only notable ones created. Separate character pages require a lot of work, and most likely Cassie's would be the only one to survive sustainability. A character-list page could be done, should anyone attempt it, and linked in the template. As for the category, I have usually done those without scrutiny and can do that soon. ( Done. Category:The Good Witch.)— Wyliepedia @ 10:07, 17 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I wasn't clear what I meant by splitting off the sections about the franchise characters. I meant that they all are combined into one article. A number of television shows detail their characters in a single article. (And it would simplify maintenance to have all of them described in one place instead of over 8 articles.) BTW, thanks for creating the category. -- llywrch (talk) 05:08, 18 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Cast table removed[edit]

I have removed the cast table from this article as it did not follow standard formatting for these.

But, frankly, a cast table at this article is a bad idea anyway, as it will clash with the Infobox. What would be a better idea would be to create/spin-out a List of Good Witch characters article – covering characters from both the TV movies and the TV series – with the cast table placed at the LoC article anyway. --IJBall (contribstalk) 15:36, 26 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

About series end[edit]

Learned last week that this was the final season of GW. And learned this when last week the final episode of this season was described as "series finale". After watching it, it has the feeling that halfway thru the season's production they learned that this would be the last: a lot of plot lines were wrapped up in the last 2 episodes in a rather abrupt manner. All this leads to the question: was there any prior announcement this series would come to an end with this season? -- llywrch (talk) 05:53, 27 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I learned it was the end the same way. It seems there was only the routine "has it been renewed" speculation up until the July 9 announcement when Hallmark pulled the plug. Interestingly, the fan Facebook group was shut down in June, apparently because the discussions about Joy's relationship were more contentious than the admins wanted to deal with. Your comment about Joy & Zoey leads to an interesting point that, IMHO, probably should be mentioned somewhere in this article: has Hallmark featured a Gay/Lesbian relationship in one of their programs before? Considering how chaste they portray all of their romantic interactions, a LGBT relationship on one of their tv shows would hardly be controversial nowadays -- except that it is Hallmark. -- llywrch (talk) 21:08, 27 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
And I found part of the answer to my question here. -- llywrch (talk) 21:14, 27 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Ha, I was just heading here to offer this. Schazjmd (talk) 21:46, 27 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
