I don't understand the Russian definition of "God" in the lead; it's also not sourced. I was under the impression that since he's Jewish, it's an alternate spelling of Gad, a popular Hebrew name. Yoninah (talk) 10:20, 30 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

The source does not support that Nisanov was sanctioned "for being close to Putin and Russian officials" as the article now states. There is a difference between saying "I'm targeting this person who is a close associate of Russian officials" and "I'm targeting this person for being close to Russian officials."
