I just changed the spelling of servent to servant. I haven't been able to find a reason it was spelt servent.

---

I was wrong. I learnt about servents. I'll change it back.

---

I don't know if this is relavant or not, or if it is true, but it seems that Gnucleus has been abandoned as no sorce files have been updated in the CVS tree for almost over a year now. This should probably be investigated. -Mtekk 13:57, 7 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Currently I'm seeing a very, very high correlation (100%) between Gnucleus (or at least the Gnucleus client identity) and spam on the Gnutella network; these servents seem to be always based in the US. This should be investigated as well. If the most active variant of the client is dedicated to advertising, then the article should mention that. 69.49.44.11 21:08, 29 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

still works[edit]

Just downloaded gnucleus 1.8.6.0., update via gnucleus.net failes. cache data and host server in preferences was too old. Got it running by adding/picking nodes from a site on the net(h**p://g2.tjtech.org/g2/?showhosts=1&net=all).

Now i wonder: how can i check if i am connected to G1, G2 or both?? As far as i can tell from extended info they r all gnutella1(limewire) I am abit dubious of the claim of G2 support. --Echosmoke (talk) 04:33, 23 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

just "found" the 2.0.2.0 release on sourceforge - its rather well hidden as h**p://www.gnucleus.com/Gnucleus/ redirects to the 1.8.6. release --Echosmoke (talk) 05:00, 23 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
so 1.8.6.0. does not support G2, 2.0.2.0 does. internal update worked after 3rd attempt. Seems the newest release is 2.2.0.0 - update article? --Echosmoke (talk) 05:34, 23 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I wagered this would be just an accidental twist in the numbers, but I was wrong! The 2.2.0.0 is a NETWORK-ONLY update. For some ugly reason, you cannot download 2.2.0.0 directly. -andy 92.230.16.207 (talk) 18:31, 3 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
