Wikipedia: This entry of U-881 is taken from a web-site that I constructed, and wrote the code. http://members.cox.net/plhuggins/index.html This website is a result of much personal research on the Uss Farquhar, and DE Division Nine, Atlantic Fleet, World War II. Research was conducted at the National Archives and Records Administration, College Park Maryland. (Further reference acknowledgements are posted on the site above.) My Father, Dudley Huggins, EM1, (1919-2000), was on the ship in World War II, and I researched, set up, and dedicated the above website in his, and his shipmates, honor.—Preceding unsigned comment added by Silverwhisker (talk • contribs) 30 March 2009

Hello there. First of all, until we receive permission from the website owner, as detailed at User talk:Silverwhisker, we can't host the content. Furthermore, I notice that the website in question states that:

Ship's histories are pasted from the Dictionary of American Naval Fighting Ships,(DANFS). (The website of which states that all content is copyrighted) and The accounts of the ship's history in narrative are extracted from the Ships Histories Section of the Office of Naval Records and History, and werecontributed by Kay M. Some material is extracted from the book "Tempest, Fire and Foe" by Lewis Andrews Jr. - now without the permission of each individual copyright holder to release content under the GFDL, we can't use their content on Wikipedia. – Toon ^(talk) 16:12, 30 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The Dictionary of American Naval Fighting Ships (or DANFS) is a work of the United States Navy Department, and as such is in the public domain. Any claim by another website over materials from DANFS is mistaken at best and copyfraud at worst. — Bellhalla (talk) 21:36, 30 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Non copyvio stub[edit]

I've written a non-copyvio stub at Talk:U-881/Temp. For the admin that approves and moves the stub over U-881, please move U-881 to German submarine U-881 over the redirect currently there; that name is the standard naming style per WP:NC-SHIPS and consensus at WP:MILHIST and WP:SHIPS. "...American waters"?[edit]
