"Cousin" of Charles I[edit]

This may need restatement - as far as I can see their last common ancestor was Walter Stewart, 6th High Steward of Scotland, died 1246! See House of Stuart, Henry Stuart, Lord Darnley and Stewart of Darnley Or have I got that wrong? Adding "very distant" , or "distant kinsman" would cover it I suppose. Got it. John Stuart or Stewart, 5th Seigneur d'Aubigny was the brother of Matthew Stewart, 4th Earl of Lennox, Charles I of England's great-grandfather (father of Henry Stewart, Lord Darnley).
They are 3rd cousins, which is plenty close in the 17th century. - PKM (talk) 03:52, 6 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Homage to Henri IV[edit]

If George Stewart did homage to a French king in 1636, wouldn't he be Louis XIII? Henri IV died in 1610. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Favonian (talkcontribs) 08:53, 9 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Whoops. Right you are; misread my source. - PKM (talk) 02:33, 10 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Fight in Montjuic?[edit]

For sure the Aubigny that fought in Montjuic (Catalonia) wasn't George Stewart. In 1643 these Aubigny was still alive and fought in Monzón's siege. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 85.94.175.115 (talk) 22:44, 31 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
